LOSSA at Laurier
LOSSA Alumni are strongly represented on the Laurier Golden Hawks, most recently Yates Cup Champions, and Vanier Cup finalists.

LOSSA Football is slowly, but surely, beginning to grow since return from COVID restrictions, but there are already a number of former LOSSA players in USports or the Canadian Junior Football League. This includes four members from the class of 2023 who found their way to the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.

Ethan Gregorcic, Andre Bute, and Tucker Pinet represent Holy Trinity, all coming to Laurier fresh off of their LOSSA Championship and OFSAA Bowl Championship in 2022. Gregorcic was the LOSSA MVP in 2021 and made immediate in roads to contributing to the Golden Hawks. Laurier, known for it's defensive strength and reliability under longtime Defensive Coordinator and Associate Head Coach, Ron VanMoerkerke, landed the highly saught after Middle Linebacker who started right away as a freshman. He wasted no time in making an impact on the field, earning Team Rookie of the Year and Rich Newbrough Rookie of the Year in 2023/24.

Tucker Pinet and Andre Bute are also entering their third year at Wilfrid Laurier, and second year of athletic eligibility. Pinet a wide receiver and defensive back standout at Holy Trinity, has settled on the defensive side of the ball with Laurier, adding speed and tenacity to an already talented secondary. "Big Bute" has also made himself known as a force on the defensive line, also being a two way player at Holy Trinity.

Joining the trio from Holy Trinity in the winter practices of their freshman year is Dwyer Alumnus, Mikai Dowe. Despite only one year of high school football, Dowe was recruited by multiple U SPORTS programs, before deciding on WLU. Another member of the Golden Hawk secondary, the former Dwyer Football MVP continues to impress with his athleticism, hoping to crack the dress roster this year after one full year under his belt in 2024.

There is certainly no shortage of chirping and rivalry amongst these teammates, with Dowe being reminded of the 2022 LOSSA season where Holy Trinity reigned supreme against Dwyer. An infamous stiff arm was regularly brought up at training camp by Gregorcic. Dowe, however, currently has LOSSA bragging rights in the locker room, as Dwyer was able to beat Holy Trinity in the LOSSA Final for the first time since 2019.

With Holy Trinity wearing Purple and Black, and Dwyer Blue and Gold, it's certain these four LOSSA grads have found their home continuing football in the Purple and Gold. For them, regardless how the LOSSA season plays out, they all hope for a Golden Vanier Cup result this season.
